Facts About Vero Beach, Florida

Vero Beach is frequently approached by boat via the Intracoastal Waterway. Visitors and residents are welcome at our 71 slip marina that has 42 moorings in a controlled and protected area. This technology assisted view of the boat basin was provided by the Geographical Information Systems Department.

The City of Vero Beach was originally called "Vero" in 1891. It wasn't until 1925 that the name was officially changed to "Vero Beach".

* Location: Longitude 80.4 degrees west, latitude 27.6 degrees north
* Elevation: 14.3 feet above sea level in the center of the city
* Government: Council-Manager form; councilmen serve for two year terms
* Municipal Facilities: Vero Beach owns and operates its own water, sewer and electrical generation and distribution facilities
